About Pollonia village

Pollonia, or Apollonia, is located in the northeast of Milos, a small seaside settlement, which is one of its most popular destinations. It is a secondary, small port, and connects Milos with Kimolos daily, via a local ferry. In this area, specifically at Pelekouda, it is said that there was a temple of Apollo. It is a quiet tourist area, close to most points of interest on the island. It has an excellent hospitality infrastructure and plenty of top quality restaurants by the sea. The village is surrounded by a sandy beach which is particularly popular with our visitors.

Near Pollonia, you can find the ruins of the ancient city of Phylakopi, which was one of the most important ancient settlements in the Aegean Sea. In the same area, you can also see the cave of Papafragas, one of the most special beaches of the island. In addition, at a short walk from the accommodation, you can visit the peninsula of Pelekouda, where the lighthouse of the same name is located. A little further on, you will find the small church of Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicholas) with a panoramic view of the center of the village and the beach.

But apart from the beautiful view, the spot offers one of the best sunsets with the sun diving behind a great rock known as Kalogeros.
